I began my yoga classes with Angela later in my pregnancy, after trying a few group classes, and my only wish is that I’d started with Angela earlier.
Not only did Angela teach me extensive positions for both pre-labour, labour and birth but also the practice of meditation and relaxation. I found her classes eased my pregnancy aches and pains and I felt fantastic after every session. Angela gave me print outs of everything we practiced together and I used these at home and packed them in my hospital bag. The detail in our classes were personalised to me and each session was taken at my own pace and tailored to my ability.
The most useful skill she taught me was how to breath! Being able to control my breathe gave me the power to manage my labour and contractions. This gave me a sense of control in the birthing room that I could do this, I could birth my baby, which in the advanced throws of labour gave me the empowerment I needed.
Another very useful skill Angela taught me was visualisation, that along with the breathing skills, allowed me to give birth and keep calm. I’m still using these skills postpartum, they’re not just for childbirth.
Angela is an incredibly calming and caring teacher, I enjoyed my classes with her very much. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone searching for a yoga for pregnancy instructor, you’ll be in good hands with her!
